Curtis Development & Consulting (CDC) is a sole proprietorship offering comprehensive development consulting services to non-profit, for-profit and government clients. Charmaine Curtis, its Principal, is an accomplished African-American developer with over 20 years of experience developing quality multi-family residential and mixed-use projects throughout California and Washington states, largely in San Francisco.
She has completed both non-profit and for-profit developments, most recently with her own company that developed two leading edge mixed-use developments in transitional neighborhoods. Ms. Curtis’s development experience ranges from ground breaking loft conversions of formerly industrial buildings in San Francisco’s South of Market to overseeing the master planning and entitlement for the redevelopment of a public housing project into a vibrant mixed-use, mixed-income community.
Ms. Curtis’s extensive project management experience ranges from project identification and conceptualization, feasibility analysis, and entitlement through certificate of occupancy and lease-up or sales. She brings exceptional problem solving skills and resourcefulness to all of her projects ensuring that the highest quality is achieved with the available resources.
Before starting her own ventures in 2004, Ms. Curtis was the President of A. F. Evans Development where she oversaw the development of approximately 4,000 units of housing. She was also the Director of Housing Development for Mercy Housing California and a project manager for Holliday Development.
Ms. Curtis has a Master’s degree in City and Regional Planning from the University of California, Berkeley and a Bachelor’s degree from Dartmouth College.
